‘Hostage’ – a Terrifying Must-Read for Cabin Crew!
Clare Mackintosh’s novel ‘Hostage’ is the airline industry’s stuff of nightmares – but a must-read for Cabin Crew!
London to Sydney
The book follows Cabin Crew Mina as she embarks on the first non-stop flight from London to Sydney.
Currently still a work in progress, Qantas did announce a few months ago that they planned to continue with Project Sunrise. This would see direct flights between London and Sydney, for a duration of a whopping 20 hours!
Find out what it’s like to work on long-haul and short-haul flights here, as well as the key differences.
Cabin Crew Emergency Responses
Partway into the flight, the plane is hijacked. And it’s unclear how many people are in on it, lurking among passengers and crew.
Once it becomes apparent that the situation is life or death, Mina is faced with impossible choices.
‘Hostage’ is a heartbreaking, thought-provoking tale of fear and love, belief and bravery.
While instances of hijacking are thankfully EXTREMELY rare, all Cabin Crew go through extensive training before stepping into their roles. This includes group exercises, role-plays and written protocols detailing what procedures are for every kind of emergency.
