I’m too young to apply but I’m wondering if an air hostess on Qatar airways can wear hijab. Is it allowed?
The current information we have is that at the moment, the only airline that accepts the wearing of hijab while in uniform is Saudi Arabian Airlines. The carrier is also a dry airline, with no alcohol service on bard any of their aircraft. All other major airlines in the Middle East require that female cabin crew don’t wear their hijab while in uniform and they also expect all cabin crew to serve alcohol to the passengers. Hi. I’m confident in myself that I have all the requirement to apply. However due to current pandemic I understand it’s an extreme tough time for airlines field, therefore I wonder if there are enough new positions that are being offered by Qatar Airway? If the chance to get accepted and started the job at this moment is not high I will consider doing something else and apply later when things get better. Thank you
At the moment, jobs are on hold due to the ongoing Covid-19 crisis, and we have no definite timescale for when things are likely to open up again – it could be a while! It may be a better option to concentrate on getting some relevant career experience in another area then applying later.

If you wanted to apply for Qatar when you reach the age of 21 you would attend an open day in your country, then yes, if you were successful in getting a cabin crew position you would have to relocate to the Middle East.

Yes you would have to apply online through the Qatar site – however we are not sure due to the ongoing Covid-19 crisis when recruitment will re-open.

I was wondering one must have a command in the English language to get accepted as a cabin crew in Qatar airways? If so, what type of degree is required? I am asking for a friend whose English is intermediate and could barely communicate with native English speakers.
I am looking for a solid answer to know if she is going to get accepted or not, since she has been putting plethora of time and effort into the work. That being said, I have got some doubt for her to be accepted in the said company due to her English.

You would need to be able to communicate fluently with native English speakers in order to be accepted for the role. Formal qualifications are desirable, but they’re not essential! The airline will include english language tests for non-native speakers as part of the process.

If you have a high school diploma then you will be fine to apply. However you would have to wait to apply to Qatar until you are 21, Qatar are strict about their age requirements. You could always get some experience with another airline in the meantime though – the majority take applicants from 18 years of age.

Am benazir from India I applied for Qatar airways …. I have tattoos in my wrist but I removed but still I have laser marks do they appoint me for cabin crew or they will reject me …… and also I have tattoo in my chest and neck but I heard that there is no problem if it’s hiding in qr uniform ….. I kno many qr crews with hidden tattoo….. my problem do they accept my wrist with laser scars ????

As long as the tattoos on your chest and neck are fully hidden while you’re in uniform then this will be fine.
Regarding the scars on your wrist this depends on the severity of them – if they are likely to fade over the coming months so they will be barely noticeable by the time you would begin your training then this is likely to also be fine.

Hi there, it would depend on how your weight is in proportion to your height, and if you can meet the requirements of bing able to pass through the aisles of the plane easily and strap yourself comfortably and safely into the jumpseat.

Hello, I was asked to go to an open day cabin crew, but it says to not expect an interview, is this only to drop my CV, or they do interview some candidates that may be more able to get recruited?
Is it required in Qatar Airways for the cabin crew to have the complete tooth? Because I have 2 teeth that are not growing anymore maybe because I’m already 18. But I’m worried that I will be taking tourism in college, and looking forward finishing the whole 4 years then after I graduate there I already know that they don’t accept lack of teeth.
It depends how this affects the appearance of your teeth overall, and if your smile is still aesthetically pleasing and your dental health otherwise good. However you still have time to consider options with improving the appearance of your smile before you’re old enough to apply to Qatar, if this is something that really worries you.

There isn’t a definite answer to this but many airlines specify that your weight/build should ideally be proportionate to your height, that you must be able to pass through the aisle of the aircraft easily, and be able to strap yourself comfortably into the jumpseat.

You can be accepted if you wear contact lens. Acceptable vision for a cabin crew is 20/40 with glasses or contact lenses – you don’t need to have 20/20 vision to qualify for the position! You should wear your lenses or glasses while taking the vision test.

As long as your teeth are in good dental health and your smile is aesthetically pleasing then this shouldn’t be an issue.

It won’t necessarily be an issue as long as you are well groomed otherwise, and your hair is well styled and feminine. Qatar do tend to prefer to have their female crew with long hair however, so it might be an idea to mention that you are planning to grow it out.

Yes, unfortunately swimming skills are a must! If you are in the process of learning this might help your application, maybe consider an intensive course so that you can learn and meet the requirements? You will not be required to demonstrate your swimming skills until the Cabin Crew training, so this would allow some time.

Yes unfortunately it would be an issue for Qatar as they have a very strict policy on tattoos. Other airlines may allow you to cover it with cosmetics.

I’m a 22 years old Indian resident keenly interested to work with Qatar Airlines as a Cabin Crew.
I had faced interviews in reputable Airlines viz. SpiceJet and Indigo but got rejected because of tattoos on my hand.
To pursue my interests, I’ve undergone treatment of tattoos removal but a few visible scars are left which by time will be diminished.

Braces are unfortunately not allowed for Qatar Airways, but if you’re close to the end of your treatment will be able to remove your braces soon contact the recruitment team for advice – they still might allow you to apply if your braces will have been removed before the end of the application process and training.

In general the height limits for crew are 6ft2″, or 189 cm, but there are no restrictions on age and ethnicity for applying.

Qatar are very strict in their tattoo policy, and they must not be visible at all whilst you are in uniform – so tattoos on the face and neck, the arms and hands, and legs below thigh level are not permitted. You will not be allowed to cover tattoos with concealer or other cosmetics either with Qatar.
