Each airline will have a slightly different recruitment process but for all of them you will need to apply by application form or more usually CV/ resume, then wait to see if you are invited for an interview/ assessment day. This will depend on how well you have written your CV and what experience you have. How you perform at interview/ assessment day will determine whether you are offered a position.
The main stages in the recruitment process are usually:
Most CVs are pretty similar, and generally not as good as they could be. You have a huge amount to shout about, you need to make sure you do it when it counts! You can make yours stand out by following the advice on our CV page and also by checking out our CV review service where we can take a look at your CV, tell you if its good enough and if not what you have to do to make it better.
It will vary between different airlines, but its best to prepare for some standard questions (i.e. about your knowledge of the job and industry), some motivation type questions (why you want the job and what you could bring to it) and some competency based questions. These are the ones people tend to get really stuck on. Take a look at our interview advice here
It will vary between different airlines, but its best to prepare for all eventualities! This could be group exercises, roleplays, psychometric testing. Usually you will have an interview, but you will have to wait and see if there will be other exercises, but the airline will usually tell you roughly what to expect beforehand.
The best way to make sure you are on the right track is usually to get some professional help. It depends how keen you are to get in straight away. If it doesn’t matter if you have a go and are unsuccessful then just jump in and see what happens! But if you know you are ready to start your new life as cabin crew and don’t want to wait, then coming on our course may be the right step for you. You can read more about it here
It’s hard waiting to hear if you’ve done enough, but if you know you did everything you could to prepare and used the help available to you then you can at least feel more confident, and perhaps less anxious!
