£1000 bonus for British Airways Cabin Crew

British Airways are offering a £1000 sign-on bonus to Cabin Crew to tackle staff shortages

Cabin Crew signing on to work with British Airways are being offered a £1,000 bonus. This comes after the airline has faced technical glitches and staff shortages causing disruption to thousands of passengers.

The bonus is available to experienced Cabin Crew as well as ground staff including bus drivers, customer service operatives and ramp staff.

The lack of staff has led to cancellations of hundreds of flights. The number of people contacting BA has also overwhelmed customer service reps.

British Airways are now eager to recruit more Cabin Crew and other staff to ensure that they can continue to run operations smoothly. Alongside IT problems grounding multiple flights recently, the airline needs to work quickly to get back to an efficient service.

Airlines have been running huge recruitment campaigns to fill the staffing gaps caused by the pandemic. Now that restrictions have relaxed, the general public are chomping at the bit to travel. The aviation industry is scrambling to meet demand – which is good news for Cabin Crew. Just take a look at our Jobs Board to see how many airlines are currently recruiting!

BA, like many other airlines, massively reduced its staffing levels when the pandemic was at its peak, but is now struggling to recruit enough staff to keep up with the boom in travel demand. The issue has been made worse by a backlog in security vetting for new employees.

British Airways is now offering a £1,000 bonus to Cabin Crew who already have an airline pass. Half this amount will be paid after three months, and the rest after six months. This figure is double what the airline were offering several months ago. Staff will also have instant access to travel benefits rather than waiting the usual six months.

British Airways staff will also receive great overtime payments and BA is offering to buyback annual leave and days off. So while it might be causing travel chaos for passengers, the silver lining for Cabin Crew is that there’s never been a better time to apply!

For those wanting to become Cabin Crew for the first time, it’s still good news. The airline industry is very busy, and many airlines are recruiting new Cabin Crew, including BA. Our course and eBooks are designed especially to help you get through the Cabin Crew application process. Find something to suit you here.
