What will you be asked at your Cabin Crew Interview?
Wouldn’t it be great if you could see the interview questions!
Sadly this is impossible, however there are certain areas in which you WILL be asked questions, so with a bit of preparation beforehand you can maximize your chances of acing that interview!
Three of the most important areas of the cabin crew role are:
- Customer service
- Health and safety
- Teamwork
If you can think of some relevant examples from work and life experience that will prove your abilities and knowledge in each of these areas this will benefit you hugely in your interview.
You’ll also be asked your reasons for applying, either for the role of cabin crew in general, or to the airline in particular, or both! So it’s best to have thought this one out beforehand too, and have an answer prepared. A common follow up to this is asking why you think you might be a good fit for the role and/or airline – be prepared to sell yourself!
As regulations and safety are so important in the aviation industry there’s a very high chance you’ll be questioned on your attitude towards following rules.
Something often overlooked by interview candidates is the expectation that you have at least a basic knowledge of aviation terms, and have done a little research on the airline you are applying for.
Try not to over-think the questions. It’s possible for a question requiring a similar answer to be asked in different ways.
For example:
- What are your opinions on rules and regulations?
- Tell us about a time you were forced to break the rules.
- Do you think it is ever appropriate to deviate from the rules?
- What would you do if you saw a colleague breaking the rules?
One example from your past experience could answer all of these – perhaps you could word it slightly differently but the important point, your attitude to rules and regulations, would still be covered.
Take a second to pause and think about what you are actually being asked before answering. And don’t be scared to ask for clarification if you feel you need to!
